We no longer sell printed textbooks because the state licensing exams and insurance legislation change frequently and we have no way of updated books that have already been printed and shipped.

  5. "I would like to get a refund or exchange my course. How can I do this?"

All requests for refunds, exchanges, or upgrades must be made within 30 days from the date of purchase and only if the other criteria listed below are met:

    • Virtual Classroom Courses are refundable but only within 30 days from the date of purchase and only if the student has completed 1 module or less; AND less than 1 exam in the exam simulator portion of the course.
    • Companies who wish to switch a course from one employee to another must do so within 30 days from the date of purchase.
    • Any textbook course is NOT ELIGIBLE to be refunded, returned or exchanged after the textbook has shipped.

If you meet the criteria above, you will receive a response from our staff after they have processed your refund.

  6. "My course has expired, how can I get an extension of time?"

Each course subscription is active for 6 months, no exceptions. The courses take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks to complete. We give everyone 26 weeks to complete the course to account for busy work schedules, illnesses, family emergencies, etc. Therefore, the extension is "built-in".

If you would like to complete a course that has already expired, you can repurchase the course from our website. Repurchasing the course will provide another 6 months of access to your course.

Why do we impose a six month expiration date? Insurance is a rapidly changing business. Laws are constantly changing, the state insurance departments frequently change state exam vendors which can completely change the topics that are covered on the state licensing exam. We have full time employees whose job it is to make online updates in real time so students can be assured that the material they are studying is current. The price of the subscription covers the use of the course and all the updates for a 6 month period of time. After that period of time has expired, the subscription must be repurchased in order to have access to the course and all the updates for an additional 6 months.

  7. "Where do I send my final exam affidavit; OR I have e-mailed/faxed the disinterested third party affidavit form to your offices and I have mailed the original. When can I expect to receive my course completion certificate?"

You should send the affidavit to the North Carolina address printed on the affidavit itself. If you have an old affidavit that someone in your office has "pre-printed", you will need to go back into your Virtual Classroom and print the affidavit from there to make sure it is up to date. This affidavit also include all the instructions you need on receiving your course completion certificate. If your question is about the licensing process (fingerprinting, bond amounts, etc.) please call the Insurance Department in the state where you will be applying for your license.

How long will it take to receive the course completion certificate? This depends on the state and if the course is for an adjuster or agent. For most states that require a course completion certificate, it will be mailed the next business day after the fax/email of the affidavit is received.  Other states, including the state of Texas, require that we have the original affidavit in our possession before the certificate of course completion is mailed.  The state of Georgia permits us to email the certificate to the student. However, for most states the certificate of course completion must be mailed to the student as he or she must have an original copy with blue signatures in order to take the state licensing exam.

PLEASE NOTE: Most – but not all - adjuster licensing exams do not require a course completion certificate. We are frequently asked about course completion certificates for adjuster courses that do not require one. The student should always consult the information handbook (sometimes called the Candidate's Bulletin) to find out if a course completion certificate is necessary. The handbook/bulletin link is on the website of your state testing vendor. The vendor for your state licensing exam, and the link to their website, was listed in your Virtual Classroom course and is also included in the instructions of your final exam simulator.

  15. "I failed my state exam and my course is expired. Can you reopen the course for me to review before I retake my state exam?"

If you did not pass the state exam and your course has already expired, you would need to repurchase the course to have adequate time to review the information you failed on the state exam. After you have repurchased the course, if you would like to send your state exam score report to us, we would be happy to have our course authors evaluate the topics in which you need to review and put together a study guide that addresses your particular needs. Our goal is to assist you in any way we can to pass your state licensing exam.
  16. "I have a question about a topic within the course. I need an explanation or clarification."

Thanks for submitting your question! Give us a few minutes to review the question and someone will reply shortly. Usually within 1 hour during the business week and 4 hours on the weekends.
  17. "I've finished the course, how do I take the final exam so I can get my course completion certificate?"

When you have finished all course modules and quizzes within the Virtual Classroom, your course final exam will appear on your course dashboard page. Please scroll down below your Virtual Classroom and Exam Simulator link and you will see your final exam listed there, but only if you have completed all sections of the course. Please be sure you thoroughly read the instructions and download your final exam affidavit before taking the course final exam.

PLEASE NOTE: Not all courses require a course completion certificate. Courses that do not require a certificate, do not include a final exam.

  18. "I ordered a course and don't know where to download the .pdf textbook. I want to print it and study from it."

The .pdf textbook SECTIONS are located within the Virtual Classroom course as you move to each new section of the course. The .pdf information is not downloaded in a single file.

PLEASE NOTE: If the course your taking requires you to spend a certain number of hours within the course, printing and reading from a .pdf will not count toward those hours. Additionally, the audio files contain state exam tips that you will miss and the video screens also contain information that you will miss if you simply read the .pdf downloaded files.
  19. "I've taken and passed my course final exam, what do I need to do next?"

Each course that requires a final exam includes a final exam affidavit. The affidavit can be access from the Virtual Classroom and the instructions of the course final exam. The affidavit contains all of the information about what how to send the affidavit to us and how you will receive your course completion certificate. All questions regarding how the license application, fingerprints, etc. should be referred to the state Insurance Department. You can find their phone number or email address on their website. You can find their website by putting the state name and "Insurance Department" into a search engine.
  20. "I've taken all three course final exams that were available in my course and I did not pass. Can you reset the final exams for me?

Each state has different regulations regarding how many times you are permitted to attempt the course final exam. When students take all three final exam and do not pass, it is a good indication that they are not ready to take the state licensing exam. In order to help our students prepare to take and pass the state licensing exam, we request that you review the course topics that you failed on the course final exam and then take practice exams until you are scoring well above 70%. Then, we can reset another attempt at the final exam.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a Georgia or Texas student, we cannot reset your final exams after you have failed three as per state law. In Georgia, each time you do not pass the a final exam, you are not permitted to take it again for two weeks.
  21. "I took a course through Insurance Schools, Inc. and lost my course completion certificate. How do I get another one?"

Please provide the following information in the text box below:

    • If you took the course online or in a classroom;
    • The time period in which you took the course. If you can't remember, providing the year would be helpful;
    • If you took the course in a classroom, provide the location and / or name of the instructor who taught the course.
  22. "My course didn't have a final exam and there was no mention of a course completion certificate. How do I get one?"

Most states do not require ADJUSTERS to have a course completion certificate before taking the state licensing exam. If your course did not include a final exam or an affidavit with instructions on how to obtain a course completion certificate, your state does not require one.

If you are attempting to schedule your ADJUSTER state exam and they are asking for a school name or code, please try entering 5555 or 9999. If this does not work, you will need to call the exam vendor and schedule your exam over the phone. Some of the testing companies have created their online forms for AGENT exams that require a course completion certificate and ADJUSTERS have difficulty in scheduling.
  23. "I get logged out of my course frequently. I'm afraid I won't have enough logons to finish my course. Can you fix this?"

We set the maximum number of logons for a course well above the number that it takes for the average student to complete the course. However, we also realize there are other factors that might cause a student to use more than an "average" number of logons. When a student has 15 logons remaining and requires additional logons, if they submit a ticket as you just did, our staff will be alerted and they can take care of resetting the logon counter for you. Please remember, we do not reset the logon counter so that a second student can also take the course.
  24. "The course will not play on my device / computer. What can I do?"

99.9% of the time, when the course won't play on a computer, it is due to a browser issue or corporate network setting. Our courses will play on an iPhone or iPad, or a computer with an up-to-date browser installed. Internet Explorer is not an up to date browser and will most likely throw errors while taking the course. Please try Google Chrome or a browser other than Internet Explorer.

If the course will not play or you only see a gray box, scroll down below the screen and click either "Switch to HTML5 Version" or "Switch to Flash Version" and this should take care of the problem.

If you are using an up-to-date browser on a corporate network and the course still will not play, please contact your IT Help Desk. Corporate networks are usually set up to block certain content and your IT Help Desk can make adjustments to the firewall that will allow you to load the course.
