WASHINGTON ADJUSTER COURSE

IMPORTANT NOTICE - PSI and the state of Washington changed their exam content outline as of September 12, 2017 (latest state exam update).

IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE READ:  Before you purchase our adjuster course to prepare for your Washington adjuster state exam, you must meet one of the requirements below:

EXPERIENCE: Twelve consecutive months (part of which is in the current or previous year) working as a full-time, salaried insurance company or managing general agent (MGA) adjuster, verified by the insurance company or MGA in writing on business letterhead. IF YOU MEET THIS REQUIREMENT, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE PSI STATE LICENSING EXAM, THEREFORE YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE ONE OF OUR COURSES.

SPECIAL EDUCATION: Successful completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program. For more information about this designation course and exam, go to: http://www.aicpcu.org  IF YOU TAKE THE AIC COURSE, PASS THE EXAM, AND RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATE, YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO TAKE THE PSI STATE LICENSING EXAM AND YOU MAY WANT TO PURCHASE ONE OF OUR COURSES TO PREPARE YOU FOR THAT EXAM.

ADJUSTER-TRAINEE PROGRAM: Before you can begin an adjuster-trainee program, your supervising adjuster (employer) must fax the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner at 360-586-2019 or go to: https://www.insurance.wa.gov/for-producers/contact-licensing/ and send an email, to inform them that you are beginning a training program and detailing your exact dates of employment. You must be a salaried employee during this training period.

An adjuster-trainee program must:

  • Be supervised by a resident licensed adjuster,
  • Include all loss-adjustment activities and responsibilities, and
  • Be six-to-nine months in length, totaling at least 960 hours (eight hours per day x five days per week x six months).

Your employer (supervising adjuster) must clearly document the details of your training, including:

  • The months your training was provided,
  • The topics covered, and
  • The number of hours of training you received per topic.

You will submit this documentation along with your license application.

If you complete an adjuster-trainee program, YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO TAKE THE WASHINGTON ADJUSTER STATE LICENSING EXAM AND YOU MAY WANT TO PURCHASE OUR ADJUSTER COURSE BELOW TO PREPARE FOR THAT STATE EXAM.

For more information about the adjuster-trainee program, please go to: View Washington Adjuster Laws.

Once you've completed either your experience, special-education or adjuster-trainee requirement, and have passed your state licensing exam, if applicable - you may APPLY FOR YOUR LICENSE ONLINE.

THIS COURSE DOES NOT PROVIDE THE EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL EDUCATION, OR ADJUSTER-TRAINEE REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED ABOVE. THIS COURSE IS SOLELY DESIGNED TO PREPARE YOU FOR THE PSI STATE ADJUSTER EXAM.
