  4. I ordered a Virtual Classroom package and my textbook has never arrived at my home/office.

Most likely, you ordered a BASIC Virtual Classroom. This package delivers the textbook materials in .pdf format from within the Virtual Classroom, there is nothing shipped to you. Look back at your receipt and if you ordered a BASIC package, go into your Virtual Classroom to access the textbook. If you would prefer to have a printed and bound textbook shipped to you, send an e-mail to support@insurance-schools.com. Include your full name and the e-mail address you used to place your order. We will send you a link enabling you to upgrade to the Deluxe package and a printed and bound textbook will be shipped to you.
  5. I ordered a course and now I would like to return it. How can I do this?

Click to go to the: Returns area to be sure that you meet the criteria for a return. If so, follow the instructions there.
  6. "My course expired, how can I get an extension?"

Each course subscription is active for 6 months, no exceptions. The courses take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks to complete. We give everyone 26 weeks to complete the course to account for busy work schedules, illnesses, family emergencies, etc. Therefore, the extension is "built-in". If you would like to complete a course that has already expired, you can repurchase the entire course or pieces of the course from our website. Repurchasing will reset the expiration date but you can still pick up where you left off in the course. Why do we impose a six month expiration date? Insurance is a rapidly changing business. Laws are constantly changing, the state insurance departments frequently change state exam vendors which can completely change the topics that are covered on the state licensing exam. We have full time employees whose job it is to make online updates in real time so students can be assured that the material they are studying is current. The price of the subscription covers the use of the course and all the updates for a 6 month period of time. After that period of time has expired, the subscription must be repurchased in order to have access to the course and all the updates for an additional 6 months.
  7. "I have e-mailed/faxed the disinterested third party affidavit form to your offices and I have mailed the original. When can I expect to receive my course completion certificate?"

This depends on the state and if the course is for an adjuster or agent. For most states that require a course completion certificate, it will be mailed the next business day after the fax/email of the affidavit is received.  The state of Texas requires that we must have the original affidavit before the certificate of course completion is mailed.  The state of Georgia permits us to email the certificate to the student. However, for most states the certificate of course completion must be mailed to the student as he or she must have an original in order to take the state licensing exam. Please note: Most – but not all - adjuster licensing exams do not require a course completion certificate. We frequently get calls about course completion certificates for adjuster courses that do not require one. The student should always consult the information handbook for his or her state to determine if the exam to be taken requires a course completion certificate.

  13. "I've taken all the exams that were included in my exam simulator, can you reset the exams?"

First and foremost, our goal is that our students pass the state licensing exam. Please remember that we are here to help you achieve that goal while you read our policy on resetting practice exams.

Many students attempt to prepare for the state exam by simply taking the practice exams in the exam simulator over and over again. This method will not prepare a student to pass the state exam. Students need to focus on spending time in the course listening to the audio / video presentation and taking the quizzes there first, before attempting any of the practice exams. This allows the student to actually learn and understand the course material so they can answer the questions in the exam simulator (practice exams) correctly. Students that simply prefer to take the practice exams as their main method of studying, end up reaching a score of between 60 and 70% and their scores stall out, never going any higher. This is because they cannot answer the "situational" questions on the practice exams because they really do not understand the material. We recommend that students are scoring in the 80th percentile on the practice exams before taking the state licensing exam. Obviously, the goal of the reaching the 80th percentile cannot be reached if these students have already taken all of the practice exams available to them and they are still scoring below 70%.

When a student requests more practice exams, it is almost always because they have not spend enough time in the Virtual Classroom course to adequately learn and understand the information presented there. When we receive a request to reset the practice exams, we will only do so after evaluating the specific topics the student is failing on the practice exams. Then, we will have our course instructors send a "study guide" specific to that student that requires them to spend time reviewing course topics in the Virtual Classroom and taking the quizzes there first. Then, after studying that student's course logs, we will make a determination about resetting a few of the practice exams to allow the student to prepare for the state licensing exam. As part of this process, we may require that the student make their state licensing exam appointment and send us the date and time.

PLEASE NOTE: If the student's course expires during the process described above, the course must be repurchased before we can proceed with the study guide or additional assistance.
  14. "I'm getting close to the maximum logons I'm allowed in the Virtual Classroom. Can you reset the logon counter?"

Yes, we can! Simply continue working on your course and you'll see the logon counter reset within 1 hour if it is a weekday and during business hours. We will reset it within 4 hours on weekends and holidays. If there is any issue that may prevent us from resetting your logon counter, we will contact you via email within the same time frame.
  15. "I failed my state exam and my course is expired. Can you reopen the course for me to review before I retake my state exam?"

If you did not pass the state exam, you would need to repurchase the course to have adequate time to review the information you failed on the state exam. After you have repurchased the course, if you would like to send your state exam score report to us, we would be happy to have our course authors evaluate the topics in which you need to review and put together a study guide that addresses your particular needs. Our goal is to assist you in any way we can to pass your state licensing exam.
  16. "I have a question about a topic within the course. I need an explanation or clarification."

Please send all of your specific curriculum questions to: support@insurance-schools.com

Please include a specific question and any references to the section of the curriculum from where your question arises. For example, "Section I of the Homeowners policy that covers the perils insured against."

All questions on curriculum are answered within 48 business hours.
  17. "I've finished the course, how do I take the final exam so I can get my course completion certificate?"

When you have finished all course modules and quizzes within the Virtual Classroom, your course final exam will appear on your course dashboard page. Please scroll down below your Virtual Classroom link and you will see your final exam listed there if you have completed all sections of the course. Please be sure you thoroughly read the instructions and download your final exam affidavit before taking the course final exam.
  18. "I ordered a course and don't know where to download the .pdf textbook. I want to print it and study from it."

The .pdf textbook SECTIONS are located within the Virtual Classroom course as you move to each new section of the course. The .pdf information is not downloaded in a single file.

PLEASE NOTE: If the course your taking requires you to spend a certain number of hours within the course, printing and reading from a .pdf will not count toward those hours. Additionally, the audio files contain state exam tips that you will miss and the video screens also contain information that you will miss if you simply read the .pdf downloaded files.
  19. "I've taken and passed my course final exam, what do I need to do next?"

Each course that requires a final exam includes a final exam affidavit. The affidavit can be access from the Virtual Classroom and the instructions of the course final exam. The affidavit contains all of the information about what how to send the affidavit to us and how you will receive your course completion certificate. All questions regarding how the license application, fingerprints, etc. should be referred to the state Insurance Department. You can find their phone number or email address on their website. You can find their website by putting the state name and "Insurance Department" into a search engine.
  20. "I've taken all three course final exams that were available in my course and I did not pass. Can you reset the final exams for me?

Each state has different regulations regarding how many times you are permitted to attempt the course final exam. When students take all three final exam and do not pass, it is a good indication that they are not ready to take the state licensing exam. In order to help our students prepare to take and pass the state licensing exam, we request that you review the course topics that you failed on the course final exam and then take practice exams until you are scoring well above 70%. Then, we can reset another attempt at the final exam.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a Georgia or Texas student, we cannot reset your final exams after you have failed three as per state law. In Georgia, each time you do not pass the a final exam, you are not permitted to take it again for two weeks.
  21. "I took a course through Insurance Schools, Inc. and lost my course completion certificate. How do I get another one?"
